The EtherCAT cable ZK1090-3191-0020 is a high performance industrial cable designed by Beckhoff for demanding applications in automation automation and networking. It ensures reliable signal transmission in dynamic environments and is ideal for applications requiring frequent movement. The cable is highly resistant to oils and other harsh chemicals.
The ZK1090-3191-0020 EtherCAT cable is engineered for long term durability with a robust polyurethane (PUR) outer jacket in green. The wire insulation is made of polypropylene (PP) and the cable is compliant with several safety standards including RoHS, CE and UL certifications. The cable features a cross sectional size of 1 x 4 x 0.14 mm² equivalent to AWG26 and is constructed with a conductor composition of 19 strands each 0.1 mm in diameter, allowing for superior flexibility. This cable can sustain up to 20 million flex cycles and requires a minimum bend radius of 20 times its outer diameter during motion. The model has a wall thickness of 0.25 mm and an outer diameter of 5.4 mm (with a tolerance of ±0.3 mm). It balances durability with the flexibility necessary for demanding high movement applications like robotics and mobile assemblies.
The shielding of the cable consists of a tinned copper braid offering 90 % optical coverage and ensuring excellent protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI). The cable is designed with a dielectric strength of 1000 volts DC and 700 volts AC between the conductors and the shielding providing robust insulation to handle high voltages. It meets the electrical specifications for Category 5 (Cat.5) which ensures it supports reliable data transfer over standard network systems. the model has a signal propagation delay of 5.55 nanoseconds per meter. The cable ensures high electrical performance and its unbalanced resistance is rated at 2 %.
