The KL4012 by Beckhoff is a dual-channel analogue output module from the KL Analog Input Series. The module is designed to provide accurate output current control. It provides a signal range of 0 to 20 mA from the 2 outputs. It can be applied in applications requiring controlled current output to devices like actuators and transducers. The module can be powered using a 24 V DC power supply by either power contacts or alternatively by a 15 V DC via the KL9515 power supply terminal. This allows power supply freedom with the option to select the appropriate power supply requirement of the system. Under a load resistance of less than 500 Ω, the KL4012 allows low-impedance loads without impairment of performance.
It has a resolution of 12 bit for better output current control. The outputs are highly accurate with an output error of less than ±0.1% relative to the end value, making it suitable for applications demanding precision. The conversion time is fast at 1.5 ms to react very fast in response to changes in the system demands, and thus provides real-time control. The module draws a typical current of 50 mA plus load out of the power contacts and 60 mA out of the K-bus. Its bit width in the process image supports 2 x 16-bit data outputs with optional 2 x 8-bit control/status, enhancing system interaction.
The KL4012 is approximately 80 g in weight and is relatively compact, yet very robust, for industrial use. Its priming comply with industry standards EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27, and the device also meets the EMC immunity and emission standards of EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 assuring proper functioning in extreme environments.
