The KL3002-0050 by Beckhoff is one of the most efficient 2-channel analog input modules for measurements that require a high-resolution voltage signal. The device is equipped with a signal voltage of ± 10 V; thus, it is quite capable of processing very different kinds of industrial automation tasks. Power supply is provided via the K-bus, thus dispelling unnecessary bulky external power sources and easing the integration into existing Beckhoff control systems.
With a conversion time of roughly 2 ms, and at a resolution of 12 bits, the module ensures accurate and fast data processing. In the 0-10 V range, resolution drops a little to around 11 bits but, regardless of that, delivers true, reliable measurements. The measurement error of less than ±0.3%, relative to the full-scale value, achieves a high level of accuracy; this makes it appropriate for sensitive applications where accuracy is vital. The usual K-bus current consumption is 65 mA that is energy- efficient without a compromise in performance. Data is transmitted in the process image through the 2 x 16-bit data and enable informative yet clear data into the control system.
The KL3002-0050 has been designed for a harsh industrial environment. A -25 to +60°C temperature range can be used to operate this module. However, the storage temperature for this module is between -40 to +85°C. A very robust build in terms of the standards of EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27 related to vibration and shock have been given to the module. Furthermore, the module complied with the relevant standards for EMC immunity and emission as per EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4, respectively. The module has an IP20 protection rating, so it is allowed to install the module in an environment that is controlled.
