Product Description
The KL2541-0006 by Beckhoff is a highly developed 1-channel Bus Terminal for accurate stepper motor control. The product has 1 stepper motor output and encoder input. Due to the 2 end position inputs and 1 encoder input, this module is very well-prepared for solving complicated tasks in motor control. Direct motor connection can also be found so that high speed and ease are provided during configuration with virtually any automation system.
This terminal uses an electronics supply voltage of 24 V DC over the power contact. The motor draws power in from a source that is delivered by means of an external input of 8 to 48 V DC. This fact propels the output current up to 5.0 A, hence allowing for its consumption. The supply to the encoder is at 5 V DC - this will be sufficient for ensuring that there is a smooth and trouble-free signal handling in the case of position feedback. The terminal can receive step frequencies as high as 125,000 steps per second with a couple of stepping modes consisting of full step, half step, and even 64-fold micro stepping. This gives highly accurate placement capabilities.
The KL2541-0006 features smooth, accurate motor motion at a control frequency of about 25 kHz. Resolution is up to 5000 steps per revolution in standard applications to allow high accuracy without compromise. Diagnostic LEDs are also offered to maximize system reliability. Clearly marked on the control circuit board, they point out errors such as phase A and B errors, step losses, power problems and enable signals. It also accepts input frequencies of up to 400,000 increments per second with 4-fold evaluation, which means it's ideal for high-speed operations.
