The digital output terminal KL2442 is designed for connecting 24 V control signals to actuators. It provides two output channels with LED signal indication and offers easy status monitoring. The device is designed to handle multiple load types and features built in protection that makes it ideal for industrial automation applications.

This terminal is manufactured by Beckhoff and supports parallel output for up to 8 A load. The KL2442 features solid isolation that protects the control circuit from potential field side electrical issues with 500 V electrical isolation. It allows for wiring with different conductor types supporting solid and flexible conductors. The terminal offers wiring cross sections of 0.08 to 2.5 mm² for both solid and flexible wiring options. It is installed using a 35 mm DIN rail conforming to EN 60715 that ensures secure and standardized mounting in control cabinets. Its robust polycarbonate housing measures 12 mm wide, 100 mm high and 68 mm deep. This ensures a compact fit in space restricted environments. The model is light weight at approximately 70 g.

The KL2442 digital output terminal supports a nominal voltage of 24 V DC accommodating up to 4 A per channel which can be doubled to 8 A when the outputs are paralleled. It operates using a 3 wire connection technology which simplifies the connection of actuators. The model’s current consumption on the K-bus is minimal at around 9 mA and the current load on power contacts is typically 30 mA plus the load. This terminal is compatible with a wide range of load types including ohmic, inductive and lamp loads. This terminal also includes LED indicators for each channel that provide visual feedback for monitoring signal states.
