The KL1212 is a digital input terminal manufactured by Beckhoff. It is designed for use in industrial automation systems that require robust signal processing and electrical isolation. The terminal finds application in machinery and control systems.

The KL1212 features two input channels that comply with EN 61131-2 type 1 standards. It operates on a 24 V DC supply with a tolerance range of – 15 % to + 20 %. The terminal supports “0” signal voltages ranging from - 3 V to + 5 V and “1” signal voltages between 15 V and 30 V. The device is optimized for reliable and quick signal detection with a typical input current of 5 mA and a fast input filter time of 3.0 ms. This digital terminal provides a maximum sensor supply of 0.5 A and ensures short circuit protection for safe operation. Its electrical isolation rating is 500 V between the K bus and field potential that ensures robust performance in industrial environments.

The KL1212 digital input terminal weighs approximately 55 grams that makes it lightweight for ease of installation. The model is constructed from a polycarbonate material and designed to be installed on a 35 mm DIN rail.
