This IE6022 extension box communication module supports both full and half-duplex data transfer modes, with channels for TxD and RxD. This helps in enabling seamless data exchange. The device operates at data transfer rates ranging from 1200 to 115,200 baud, with a default setting of 9600 baud (8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit). Housed in a durable PA6 polyamide casing, it features compact dimensions of 30 mm x 126 mm x 26.5 mm by making it suitable for space-constrained installations. This IE6022 extension box offers convenient installation through two 3.5 mm diameter fixing holes for M3 screws. Its RS422 connection utilizes a screw-type M12 connector by ensuring secure and reliable communication. The unit operates on a nominal voltage of 24 V DC, with a tolerance of -15% to +20%. The device's common-mode voltage ranges from -7 V to +12 V relative to ground. The IE6022 extension box module’sdata transmission is handled efficiently, with a 128-byte receive buffer and a 16-byte transmit buffer. Power is supplied through a 4-pin M8 male socket, with a downstream connection provided via a 4-pin M8 female socket. The extension box consumes 40 mA of current (excluding sensor load) and provides electrical isolation up to 500 V between RS485 and control voltage, with further isolation from the fieldbus via IP-Link. It supports a maximum cable length of 500 meters using a twisted-pair connection, and the line impedance is 120 Ω.
