Product Description

The Beckhoff IE6002-1001 is an interface module that belongs to the IE Extension Box Series and is intended to function as an RS232 connector. This module operates at 24 V DC nominal voltage and is tolerant to -15% to +20% of the nominal voltage. It is known that such a module allows to establish protection against the undesired noise or disturbance over the communication channel(s) in the automatic equipment system. This module consists of two channels for data transmission: TxD and RxD and works at data rates from 1200 to 115200 baud, with the standard baud rate of 9600 (data bits: 8; parity: none; stop bits: 1). The enclosure is quite rigid and has an ingress protection rating of IP65/66/67 against dust and moisture ingress.

This module consists of M12 screw-type connectors which are used for RS232 connections of devices thus ruggedize and security of the connection is assured. The length of the cord may be increased by up to fifteen meters thus the module can perform adequately even in different industries. Also, this module is capable of total immunity by means of electrically isolated signals. The RS232 interface works in a transparent manner, that is, the operation does not interfere with the serial interface protocol and works as a standalone bus system support in full duplex operation.

An M8 male socket for the feed is used to connect the power supply, while further connection is made with the module MK8 female pin, which has 4 pin and a coded feature. The consumption current of the module is 40mA thus using low power while at the same time able to operate continuously. It has a bit width in the process image of 3 × 8-bit user data and I × 8 bit control/status, expandable up to 5 × 8 bit user data.
