IE Extension Box Series

The Beckhoff IE Extension Box Series is a versatile I/O system from Beckhoff consisting of modular extension modules engineered for robust, direct integration into industrial machinery and processes. The modules are IP67-rated to withstand harsh conditions and rated for an extended temperature range. The series covers various signal requirements including digital and analog input/output modules as well as specialty modules for position measurement and communication interfaces. Digital I/O modules offer flexible M8 and M12 connector options while analog modules deliver 16-bit resolution for precision processing. Position measurement and communication modules facilitate integration of encoders and serial devices. A major advantage is the modular design which allows connection of up to 120 extension modules via IP-Link, providing scalable customization. Modules mount directly onto machines, avoiding extra enclosures and simplifying installation activities. The EtherCAT Box Series from Beckhoff further extends capabilities with IP67 modules in industrial housings offering direct high-speed EtherCAT connectivity for demanding settings. The EtherCAT P Box variants combine communication and power delivery over a single cable for reduced wiring.
