The Beckhoff ES2022 is a robust digital output module from the ES EtherCAT Terminal Series, engineered for demanding industrial control applications. It provides two short-circuit-proof outputs, each capable of handling up to 2.0 A of current. This makes the module ideal for driving diverse load types, including ohmic, inductive, and lamp loads.

Designed with 4-wire connection technology, the ES2022 ensures secure and flexible wiring configurations. Operating at a nominal voltage of 24 V DC with a tolerance range of -15% to +20%, the module offers reverse voltage protection to safeguard against incorrect wiring. Additionally, it features built-in short-circuit protection, with a typical short-circuit current of less than 70 A and breaking energy limited to 1.7 J per channel, providing an extra layer of safety in industrial environments. With an IP20 protection rating and certifications from CE, UL, ATEX, and IECEx, the ES2022 is approved for use in hazardous environments, including Ex zones. The module is optimized for fast switching, with a turn-on time (TON) of approximately 40 µs and a turn-off time (TOFF) of 200 µs, making it highly responsive in automation systems. Compact and lightweight at 55 grams, the ES2022 is easy to integrate into automation setups and supports pluggable wiring for quick installation and maintenance.
