The EPP2338-1002 is a flexible EtherCAT P Box manufactured by Beckhoff Automation to improve communication in industrial servo systems. This product utilizes the EtherCAT communication technology built by Beckhoff in 2003. It is equipped with up to eight independent digital channels that are designed to be functional as either an input or output interface. Unlike conventional connection boxes, it is not necessary to configure whether a channel is to be used or output. The EPP2338-1002 EtherCAT P box is produced according to IP67 protection classification; the high protection provided by the motor housing provides it with unrivalled durability that allows the product to maintain impressive operation performance in wet, dusty, or dirty operating conditions. The electrical cable used with this product is a 4-core Ethernet cable with M8 connectors. These connectors are mechanically codded so that EtherCAT and EtherCAT P connectors cannot be interchanged.

The EPP2338-1002 box module operates with a nominal supply voltage of 24 volts; it also consumes about 100 milliamperes of current from the supply voltage. Each channel on this product can supply a maximum output current of 0.5 amperes, the channels are individually circuit-proof. Auxiliary power current is about 20 milliamperes while electrical isolation of 500 Volts is recorded. There is an input filter that operates in 3.5 milliseconds on this product.

The EPP2338-1002 is environmentally friendly and does not generate too much heat during operation. The little heat generated by this product is comfortably dissipated via surface natural convection. The EPP2338-1002 does not weigh more than 165 grams, this makes handling and installation very easy.
