Product Description

The EPP2338-1001 is an EtherCAT P digital channel box that provides electrical Isolated transmission of voltages through EtherCAT P lines. The electrical voltages used on the line connected to this device are isolated from each other and can be switched individually. During operations, all input channels present in this product can be either input or output channels without any prior configuration. If the channels are operated as digital inputs, the modules record the binary control signals from the process level and transport them to the higher-level automation device. If the channels are operated as digital output, the modules forward binary control signals of the automation device to the actuators at the process level.

The EtherCAT P lines used with this product feature the same cable structure as the EtherCAT lines; they also require a 3-pin a-codded connector to be used with the EtherCAT P box. The housing material of this product is Polyamide (PA6), which is particularly durable and chemically resistant. Also, a functional earth connection can be established on this product through the mounting hole at its top right corner. The functional earth system reduces noise and improves signal integrity in the electronic system.

The EtherCAT P transmits two types of voltages: the control and peripheral voltages. The control voltage delivered to the inputs of the EPP2338-1001 EtherCAT P box is about 24 volts. There are two Light Emitting Diodes that indicate the status of the supply voltage in the EtherCAT P box, these diodes are labelled with the designation of the supply voltages. The EPP2338-1001 is certified by UL; however, to meet the UL requirements, it must not be connected to unlimited power sources.
