Product Description

The EPP1322-0001 is an EtherCAT P junction manufactured by Beckhoff Automation to improve industrial communication technology by converting incoming EtherCAT signals to EtherCAT P signals. This signal conversion is done by combining the EtherCAT signal received with an applied supply voltage. The product features 1 signal input interface to receive EtherCAT signals and three output ports through which the generated EtherCAT P signal can be transmitted to industrial machine components. In the case of a short circuit on any of the EtherCAT P outputs, the product automatically switches the short-circuited output voltage off to prevent damage. The housing of this product provides protection according to the IP67 protection rating; this high protection classification makes it possible for operators to use the product under the harshest industrial conditions without the risk of machine failure.

Input connection on the EPP1322-0001 requires an M8, 4-pin EtherCAT connector. There is also a 500 Volt electrical isolation at the input interface. The nominal supply voltage produced at the output connection is about 24 volts, providing a sum output current of 4 amperes. The EPP1322-0001 is delivered with protective caps, which have been pre-assembled at the factory to protect the connectors during transportation and storage. Upon delivery, these caps should still be checked to ensure IP67 protection.

The EPP1322-0001 housing is made from Polyamide (PA6); it also features a sealing compound made from polyurethane and gold-plated contacts. The design of the product allows for variable installation positions. Mounting of the module should be done with two M3 screws on the fastening holes in the corners of the module. These fastening hold have no thread. The upper fastening hold also serves as a connection for functional earth.
