Product Description
EP1819-0022 is an EtherCAT box designed and manufactured by Beckhoff Automation. The box housing is made of strong polyamide and provides protection against dust and water ingress. Its IP65 protection rating ensures operators can use the box in different operating conditions. The box is equipped with digital input. A total of 16 digital sensors can connect to the EP1819-0022 box via these inputs. The box supplied electrical power for the sensors, and can source 0.5 Amps in total for all the sensors. Wiring from the sensors terminates on 5-pin M12 screw type connectors on the box. The box transfers these digital inputs to the high-speed EtherCAT network, where these signals are used as inputs by controllers tasked with process control. Any input signal to the box that is between 3 and 5 Volts is considered as a binary 0.
Any input signal to the EP1819-0022 box that is between 11 and 30 Volts is considered as a binary 1. LED indicators provided for each input channel display the status information. There is approximately 500 Volts of electrical isolation between the inputs and other box circuits. This isolation not only prevents input signals from corruption, it also protects other equipment and personnel from electric shock. Dimensions and weight of the box are 60 x 126 x 26.5 millimeters and 250 grams. There are two fixing holes on each box for mounting. These holes are compatible with M4 screws. The optimal operating temperature for the box is from -25 to 60 °C. The storage temperature is from -40 to 85 °C. To prevent installation errors and ensure reliable operation, only trained personnel should install the box.
