Product Description
Beckhoff Automation is an engineering company that uses the latest technology to design and produce automation machines that significantly improve industrial operation processes while reducing cost and complexity. The company designed the EtherCAT communication technology in 2003 and has developed several products that utilize this technology to improve processes. The EP1816-1008 is an EtherCAT box from Beckhoff Automation. This module box contains up to 16 digital inputs that acquire binary control signals from the process level and transmit them to the controller in an electrically isolated form. The state of the signals being transmitted is indicated by Light Emitting Diodes present on the product. The input connection on this product is a D-sub socket 25 pin connection; it uses a nominal input voltage of 24 volts and an input filter time of 10 microseconds.
The handling, mounting, and installation of the EP1816-1008 EtherCAT box is should be done by qualified personnel according to instructions in the documentation of the product. The housing of the EtherCAT box is made from polyamide material, this housing is specially structured to prevent the penetration of dust and liquid into the product. The input current on this product is about 3 milliamperes, and the signal voltage during operation can fall between 11 to about 30 volts.
The EP1816-1008 is tested for shock and vibration before delivery, it is also certified to have a substantial amount of electromagnetic compatibility. This product comes with a 12-month warranty provided by Wake Industrial, it can also be delivered to customers in any location. The best mounting position of the box is vertically enough space for cooling via natural convection.
