Product Description
Beckhoff Automation is an industry leader in the designing and production of advanced technology that solves industrial automation problems and improves industrial performance. In 2003, the company designed the EtherCAT communication technology, which is now widely used all over the world. The EM7004-0002 is a Terminal module interface that is built on the EtherCAT technology; this product is equipped with 16 digital inputs and outputs combined on a very small area. This high packing density provides customers with cost benefits through lower overall installation size and application-specific signal Mix. The module is also fully system compatible, it is bus-neutral and can be operated with any Beckhoff Bus coupler and Bus terminal controller without any problem. Also, the EM7004-0002 module does not require any tool for wiring; spring-loaded technology is used, although the connection later is pluggable.
The EM7004-0002 terminal module is optimized for the direct connection of four servo drives whose encoder simulation feeds the module with RS485 signals. It also contains four integrated incremental encoders. There are 16 digital inputs and outputs on this device. Each output interface is supplied with 24 volts. The module also has four analogue outputs supplied with 10 volts. Connectors X4, X5, X6, and X7 each feature an encoder input and an analogue output; these connectors are galvanically isolated from each other and from the supply voltage.
During operation, the permissible ambient temperature range for the EM7004-0002 is between 0 to 55 degrees Celsius; however, during storage, this temperature range is between – 25 to 85 degrees Celsius. A 35-millimeter rail is required to properly mount this product; this mounting rail should conform to EN 60715. The approximate weight of the product is 0.26 kilograms.
