Product Description
The EL6090 is a display terminal manufactured by Beckhoff Company. It features an illuminated low-reflection display with two lines of 16 characters. It can display diagnostic information or status messages. The display terminal has two distinctive features. A navigation switch and a status display. The status of the navigation switch is transmitted to the controller as binary variables which are then used to control the display. The maximum cable length between two EtherCAT should not exceed 100 m. Only Ethernet connections that meet category 5 (CAt5) requirements should be used to connect EtherCAT devices.
The EL6090’s display features an LC display that comes with switchable lighting. Switch inputs are via navigation buttons down, up, left, and right and it can display 2 special characters with 5 x 8 pixels. The data for its timers and counters is saved every 15 minutes. It has a 24 mm housing, 80 mA current consumption via E-bus, TwinCAT configuration system manager, and a weight of approximately 70 g. EL6090 features an IP 20 class protection. A terminal box or control cabinet that meets IP 54 protection class should be provided. The required ambient conditions include a storage temperature range of -25 to +85 degrees Celsius, and an operating temperature range of 0 to 55 degrees Celsius.
Before operating this Beckhoff display terminal ensure that surroundings are well grounded, you are properly electrostatically discharged, and that you avoid the contacts of the device directly. You can use either DIN rail TH 35-7.5 or DIN Rail 35-15 for mounting. Install them horizontally while the connection surface of the EL6090 faces forward. Ample ventilation from below should be provided to allow optimal cooling. When installing together with passive terminals, avoid stringing more than two passive terminals.
