Product Description
The EL6080 is an EtherCAT memory terminal that is manufactured by Beckhoff. It features a total memory of 128 kbyte, maximum usable memory of 1280 bytes both in cyclic and acyclic access. The configuration is through the TwinCAT system manager and supply voltage via E-bus devoid of power voltage. Permissible conditions include an operating temperature range of -25 to 60 degrees Celsius, and storage temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. It should be operated in the humidity of less than 95% with no condensation. It meets CE, ATEX, and cUlus approvals and conforms to EMC immunity.
The EL6080 has IP 20 class protection and should be mounted in a control cabinet that meets IP 54 degree of protection to protect it from fluids and external objects. The mounting DIN rail is installed horizontally while the connection should face forward. Ensure there is ample ventilation from below for maximum cooling. This Beckhoff memory terminal can be used for reading several different types of information such as machine data, parameters and recipes. Data is stored temporarily in the RAM. In the case of power failure, the integrated buffer supplies the NOVRAM block until all data in the RAM is stored in non-volatile memory.
The EL6080 uses two distinctive ways to access memory: acyclic and cyclic processes which use varying memory. This memory terminal is designed to be installed, operated, and commissioned by individuals trained in control, automation, and drive engineering. During maintenance or installation, the operator should ensure that the EL6080 is in a safe and powered down state to avoid shock and damage. Before commissioning, ensure that it is properly mounted and configured in the TwinCAT runtime environment which enables real-time control. Configuration data should be entered via scan and editor functions in online and offline mode respectively.
