The Beckhoff EL7201-0010 is an integrated 1-channel motion terminal with a high-performance EtherCAT interface that is purpose for controlling servomotors. It is a part of the EL EtherCAT Terminal Series and it has peak current capability of 5.7 A for 1 second and supports output currents of up to 2.8 A (RMS). This terminal is meant for applications which involve precise, dynamic drives making it suitable for robotics, automation and such systems that are motion critical.

The EL7201-0010 has a nominal voltage operating range of 8-48 V DC, and communicates via EtherCAT with distributed clock guaranteeing fast data transfer in real-time. Its connection method which is spring loaded ensures that wiring is quick and safe reducing the time for installation. A rotational frequency of up to 599Hz and a clock frequency for the PWM of 16 KHz is also supported which ensures quality and efficiency during motor control.

This terminal also benefits from Beckhoff’s eXtended Fast Control (XFC) technology ensuring low latency and high precision in control. It also has better shock and vibration resistance enabling it to perform reliably even in harsh environments. To further enhance performance there is a possibility of increasing cooling by using the ZB8610 fan cartridge, thus enhancing the cooling and allowing the drive to work under greater load without risk of overheating. Its compact form factor along with the sophisticated control features makes it an ideal solution especially in performance demanding applications where space is limited.
