Product Description
The Beckhoff EL7041-0000 is an EtherCAT Terminal able to drive a 2-phase stepper motor. Its application includes the direct connection of the motor and feedback which qualifies it for motion control applications. This unit is small, only 90 grams and has been designed in line with EN 61000-6-2/EN 61000-6-4, therefore electromagnetic compliance for industrial environments is guaranteed. The EL7041-0000 may be powered by 24 V DC for its electronics, while the motor only requires an external power of 8 – 48 V dc. It has a maximum output current of up to 5.0 A and an adjustable maximum step frequencies up to 8000 full steps. The terminal also accepts 64-fold microstepping which makes it easier and more fine tune the motor control. About 30 kHz operational frequency controllers assures that even in difficult situations functions remain steady and accurate.
This terminal has one channel that can accommodate several inputs and outputs, namely, two end position inputs and one encoder input. The encoder interface is able to support, A, B, C and gate/latch input signals: these signals operated with input voltages of between 5-24 volts DC. So many types of encoders can benefit from it. In typical applications, the terminal can have a resolution of up to 5000 positions for every motor revolution, thus the feedback from the motor is dependable and accurate.
The EL7041-0000 is meant to be used by trained persons in control and automation systems. Beckhoff highlights the necessity to adhere to the safety precautions and related documents in order to prevent risks and obtain the maximum output of the device. The EL7041-0000, with its strong structural design, accurate motor control features, and easy integration into EtherCAT networks, is ideal for intricate automation applications that require high levels of accuracy and dependability.
