From the EL EtherCAT Terminal Series, the Beckhoff EL3681-1010 is an advanced measurement terminal for Voltage and Current. It has a voltage limit of about 300 V AC/DC and possesses a high current path with the possibility of 10 A measurements. This terminal is recommended for the most demanding scenarios in electrical parameter measurement and control within the industrial sector.

The EL3681-1010 is made for various measurement requirements as it also has automatic and manual range selection. It measures four voltage levels: 300 mV, 3V, 30 V, 300 V and 3 current levels: 100 mA, 1 A, 10 A. The terminal is equipped with an 18-bit resolution + sign and thus is able to show absolute data over all ranges making it ideal for applications where precision is important. At 40ºC, the terminal’s measurement error of level DC voltage is merely 0.01%, thus asserting a high dependability standard for devices. It implements arithmetic averaging technique for DC measurements while AC measurements are based on true RMS value calculation. This transformation allows one tool to be able to function perfectly for both steady and fluctuating signals. Also considered is an internal resistance of a device that is equal to 3 mΩ, 0.2 Ω or 12.5 MΩ depending on the measurement path.

There on the duration of conversion is 0.5 seconds with a reach of 1 second at range switching. E-bus powers the terminal, showing a qualified power consumption of 150 mAs while data transmission features 32-bit data and 16-bit control/status in the process.
