Product Description
The Beckhoff EL3356-0000 is a modern EtherCAT terminal specifically developed for the precise measurement of load cells based on the complete bridge method. It employs automatic calibration along with dynamic filtering features and can be relied upon while used in industrial environments. The module is capable of providing a 16-bit resolution with a 32-bit data output format for clear measurement representation while possibly utilizing a 10 kHz low-pass input filter to mitigating noise and improve signal quality.
This terminal has two inputs designed for a single resistor bridge using two differential input channels with measuring ranges of ±27 mV for the differential input voltage Ud and ±13.8 V for the bridge supply voltage Uref. The internal resistance for ud is over 1 MΩ and for Uref 200 kΩ which has a negligible effect on the measured parameters of the sensors. It works within nominal sensitivities range of 0. 05- 4 mV/V, with the possibility to change parameters in increments of 0.01 μV/V which allows its use with different types of sensors.
The EL3356-0000 has user defined conversion rates of between 100 and 4 samples per second (conversion cycle time of 10-250 ms) which means the device is useful for both fast and slow measurement techniques. The measurement terminal gets its power directly from the E-bus and has a current load of 210 mA, in addition to that; power contacts (up to 12 V DC) are utilized depending on the configuration of the strain gauges. Its self-calibration feature stands out as it helps to ensure the stability of the measurement over time while reducing the need for re-calibration of the device manually. The unit also has a quadruple average for greater measurement stability as well as dynamic filtering for changing measurement conditions which is a better feature than the previous models.
