Product Description

The EL3314-0010 is a high-precision 4-channel analog input terminal for thermocouples. This terminal is manufactured by Beckhoff Automation; it enables the direct connection of thermocouples and allows for a more precise measurement of temperature due to its improved measuring circuit and more advanced reference joint measurement. This product is also a self-diagnostic device that can detect wire breaks and alert operators through its error Light Emitting Diodes. Before the delivery of this product, it is calibrated against a high-precision reference voltage; by default, it is set to a resolution of 0.01 Celsius per digit. To ensure the accuracy reported for this product, operators should ensure that it is installed in a horizontal position and that the ambient temperature is about 23 degrees Celsius. An additional software-based MC filter can be used for smoothing value measured by the terminal; also, an external cold junction compensation is possible.

The EL3314-0010 can be used with up to five different types of thermocouple sensors, including type B, C, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, and type U thermocouple sensor. The product is also designed to be used with 2 wire connection technology. The maximum cable length of this product is 30 meters; if a longer cable is to be used, suitable surge protection must be provided.

The operation resolution of the EL3314-0010 is about 24 bits; it also functions with a Multiplex sampling type and a differential ground reference. The input filter cut-off frequency on this product is about 1 kilohertz; also, the software filter is between 5 to about 30 kilohertz. The conversion time is also between 1.6 seconds to about 5 milliseconds depending on the configuration and filter settings.
