The Beckhoff EL2907 EtherCAT Terminal is a digital output terminal produced with precision to help safely control actuators in automation settings.

This terminal has 8 digital output channels, which allows for controlling several devices at the same time, which is necessary for versatile tasks. The voltage range of the channel is fixed at 24 V DC with a maximum current capacity of 0.5 A to meet standard industrial power system voltage ratings. The EL2907 is compatible with Beckhoff’s TwinSAFE technology that enables Fail Safe over EtherCAT (FSoE) for safe and secure operation and integration in application areas. It ensures high safety performance, and it meets the SIL 3 (IEC 61508) and PL e (EN ISO 13849-1) levels that are important for safety operations in areas where failure could lead to harm. All the output channels of the EL2907 are provided with diagnostic LEDs for real-time display of the channel status, which goes a long way in facilitating easy identification of problems for repair. The terminal has the current measurement feature that offers accurate current output load controls to ensure the best control., respectively. For added safety, each channel has short circuit protection in-built to protect the terminal and increase its life expectancy.

It also provides 500 V of electrical channel isolation between the EtherCAT E-bus and the field side to prevent electrical fault conditions from affecting the load. Having been made to work at temperature extremes of -25°C to +60°C, the EL2907 is suitable for use in many industries. The dimensions of the device enable 35 mm DIN rail mounting, according to EN 60715, which makes installation fast and simple. Measuring 15mm by 100mm by 70mm and with an IP20 protection rating the terminal is designed for use in protected industrial applications where space is at a premium.
