Product Description

The EL1918-2200 is part of the Beckhoff Automation industrial EL EtherCAT Terminal Series, which helps to achieve decentralized connection in the industrial communication system. This product is particularly useful in industrial automation and building management systems. However, it is only approved for applications with a defined fail-safe state. The EL1918-2200 a TwinSAFE EtherCAT terminal that has 8 fail-safe inputs for a more reliable connection. With its channel connection, this product meets the requirements of IEC 61508:2010 SIL 3 and EN ISO 13849-1:2015. This product represents a pure input/output component without integrated safety control.

The 24 Volts sensors compatible with this product include the safety switching mats, light curtains, laser scanners, and rope pull switches. It is also possible to equip this product with 24-volt actuators such as contactors, signal lamps, servo drives, and protective door switches with a tumbler. The input process input on the EL1918-2200 is about 7 bytes while the output process image is approximately 6 bytes. Also, during operation, the supply voltage required by this product is about 24 volts.

The Signal voltage for “0” inputs falls between -3 to about 5 volts, while the signal voltage “1” inputs is between 11 to approximately <<30 volts. When all the 8 channels on this product are occupied, an approximate value of about 165 milliamperes of current is consumed via the E-bus; also, the power loss of the terminal is typically about 1.6 watts. There is no electrical isolation between the channels present on this product; however, electrical isolation is provided between the channels and the E-bus. Also, the Isolation voltage between the channels and the E-bus under common operating conditions is about 500 volts. This product has a total weight of 50 grams.
