Product Description
Among the EtherCAT Terminal Series, the Beckhoff EL1862-0000 is classified as high density input terminal and offers 16 individual digital input channels working at nominal voltage of 24 V DC (-15% to +20% tolerance). Typical wiring using flat-ribbon cable technology is more space efficient, especially in the case when several input channels need to be used. This model, weighing in at only 60 grams, is also easy to use wherever space is tight.
Each input is compliant with the EN 61131-2 standard (type 1/3) and each input draws no more than 4 mA from the 24 V DC supply. The 16 input channels are integrated into the process image, with due regard for the 16 input bit width, which makes it easy to switch control over the input of the EtherCAT based control. As a result, more terminals can be linked without any hassle. There is a special version of the terminal with ground switching option which increases installation freedom for the inputs.
The EL1862-0000 has been designed to cope in the demanding settings of industrial use, fulfilling norms EN 60068-2-6 for vibration, and EN 60068-2-27 for shock. EN 61000-6-2, and EN 61000-6-4 for electromagnetic immunity and emission are also met thanks to the design thus making the device dependable in electrically noisy surroundings. This terminal can operate from temperatures ranging from 0°C to +55°C and can be put in storage between -25°C and +85°C. The enclosure rating for this device is IP20 and is designed to be mounted in controlled environments; it supports several mounting positions to allow for easy incorporation into enclosures. Its CE, UL, ATEX and IECEx certifications further pronounced by the ATEX and IECEx markings (II 3 G Ex ec IIC T4 Gc) make it appropriate for provision in hazardous industries.
