Product Description
The EL1809 is an HD EtherCAT Terminal from Beckhoff that acquires binary control signals and transmits them to higher-level automation devices in an electrically isolated form. Designed with 16 input channels, this EtherCAT terminal is ideal for space-saving control cabinet installations. The terminal's single-conductor connection technique allows for multi-channel sensor integration with minimal wiring to make its use of space efficient.
The EL1809 operates on a nominal voltage of 24 V DC with a tolerance range of -15% to +20%. The terminal features an input filter with a typical response time of 3.0 ms that allows the terminal to handle slow 24 V DC edge signals effectively. The terminal supports a signal voltage range from -3 to +5 V for a "0" signal and 11 to 30 V for a "1" signal. The 16 input channels are represented with a bit width of 16 in the process image. The electrical isolation is rated at 500 V to ensure protection between system components. The current consumption on the E-bus is typically 100 mA, and power contact consumption is approximately 4 mA plus load. For conductor connections, the EL1809 HD EtherCAT Terminal supports solid wires, stranded wires, and ferrules to offer flexible installation options. Solid wire conductors are connected using a direct plug-in technique, while stranded wires and ferrules require spring actuation with a screwdriver.
The EL1809 is designed to meet various international standards to hold certifications like CE, UL, and ATEX to make it a reliable choice in industrial automation. The rated cross-section for solid wire ranges from 0.08 to 1.5 mm^2, and for stranded wire, it ranges from 0.25 to 1.5 mm^2. The terminal's compact design, ease of installation, and robust electrical specifications make it highly suitable for diverse automation tasks.
