Product Description
The Beckhoff BK1250 is an EtherCAT Bus Coupler. This model is considered in the construction of control systems where a mix of standard Bus Terminals (KLxxxx) and EtherCAT Terminals (ELxxxx) is desired in a bus station. This coupler is designed in the terminal housing and requires no cables for its deployment. With this device, you will be able to implement cost-effective and compact control solutions without investing any additional hardware resources.
The BK1250 is deployed on a DIN-rail with E-bus terminals on the left and K-bus terminals on the right. It is a simple solution to combine more than 300 standard Bus Terminals (including standard special terminals). It has a large bandwidth and better communication speed than most other EtherCAT terminals. A single BK1250 unit can accommodate 64 x K-Bus Terminals. Using a K-bus extension, even better channel density of up to 255 terminals can also be achieved. Unlike BK1120 and BK1150, the BK1250 has no physical Ethernet port as it utilizes the E-bus contacts to provide bus intra-bus connectivity. This bus coupler is a smart device as it performs all the control and monitoring tasks related to the associated Bus Terminals.
This EtherCAT Bus Coupler requires 24VDC power supply and draws a maximum current of 200 mA and it is designed to be mounted on 35 mm mounting rails as defined by EN 60715. The front panel of the coupler contains all the power supply spring terminals and diagnostic LEDs. In addition to basic diagnostics, dedicated LEDs are also provided to indicate the I/O Run status and I/O Error status of the K-bus. This coupler has a protective earth power contact which can ground up to 125 A short-circuit current to ensure the safety of the system.
