Product Description

The EK1122-0000 is a strong and highly effective 2-port EtherCAT junction that can be used in an EtherCAT terminal segment at any desired position between the EtherCAT Terminals. This product is manufactured by Beckhoff Automation to aid the configuration of EtherCAT star topologies; it features two RJ 45 sockets and can establish connections over a distance of up to 100 meters. The RJ45 sockets on this device are designed to establish a connection to a further EtherCAT segment or to individual EtherCAT devices. Unlike conventional connection devices, this product also supports the Hot Connect feature, which allows for changing topologies through direct coupling and uncoupling during operation. Coupled EtherCAT components are already quickly linked to the data communication after connection as standard. The Fast hot-connect technology of this product further reduces the connection time significantly, enabling even faster tool changes. The fast connection parts can only be connected to each other in the communication system.

The EK1122-0000 EtherCAT coupler requires an Ethernet/EtherCAT shielded cable for the transfer of data; the data transfer rates established through this connection cable can reach a peak speed of 100 megabits per second. The configuration of this product before use is not required; also, the approximate delay protocol during its use is about 1 microsecond.

The power supply on the EK1122-0000 is done through the E-bus; also the typical power consumption is approximately 220 milliamperes. During operation, the temperature around the coupler should be maintained between -25 to about 60 degrees Celsius.
