The EK1110-0008 is a durable EtherCAT extension from the reputable Beckhoff Automation company. The product features an M8 connection, which offers operators the option to extend the line topology of an EtherCAT communication network with a further EtherCAT segment or to individual EtherCAT devices. During use, the product is intended to be placed at the end of an EtherCAT terminal segment or with an Embedded PC from the CX series. The M8 connection socket present on this product is particularly suited for use with EtherCAT box modules, as it also facilitates uniform cabling connections in the IP20 and the IP67 product range. The EK1110-0008 also continuously converts E-bus signals to 100BASE-TX Ethernet signal representation.

The EK1110-0008 EtherCAT extension does not require any type of configuration of parametrization before use; it can be easily mounted on a 35 millimeters DIN rail and set up for operation. The housing of the product is built from polycarbonate, which provides high mechanical stability and guarantees long-term stability. The electrical cable recommended for use with this product is the shielded Ethernet/EtherCAT cable. This cable can extend the connection over a distance of 100 meters, and it also maintains a data transfer rate of about 100 megabits per second.
