Beckhoff embedded computers in the CX series have a modular design to bring flexibility and time-saving features into the industrial floor. To help them handle a host of industrial-level tasks, Beckhoff CX series brings together hardware PLC and the industrial PC worlds. The CX series comprises a wide range of embedded computers including embedded PC for BACnet/IP. This unit is a control system with a switched Ethernet port.

The Beckhoff CX8191 is an embedded PC that supports the BACnet protocol and has a switched Ethernet port. The embedded PC automatically recognizes Input and Output devices connected minimizing the amount of time it takes to connect new devices. For optimal performance, the CX8191 is powered by an ARM Cortex-A9 processor with a frequency rating of 800 MHz. With 512 megabytes of RAM, the embedded PC can handle large applications positively impacting on performance and reliability. With a data transfer rate of 100 megabits per second, the CX8191’s processing speed is maintained regardless of the intensity of the application.

The CX8191 supports the Microsoft Windows Embedded Compact 7 operating system, supports both E-bus and K-bus Input Output terminals, and its bus interface has two switched RJ45 ports. With a height of 100 millimeters, a depth of 73 millimeters, and a width of 71 millimeters, the CX8191 is small enough to be mounted in small spaces on the industrial floor provided the spaces are not prone to liquids and do not have solid objects exceeding finger-length.
