Product Description
Beckhoff’s embedded PCs have improved the performance and reliability of industrial applications. These computers can be used in industrial automation, as well as other software-controlled tasks. Embedded computers are suitably designed to be used in environments with high humidity, shock vibration, dust, and varied temperatures. Beckhoff embedded computers such as those in the CX series are designed around a space-saving blueprint allowing them to be mounted in a control cabinet. To be able to address customer-specific requirements, Beckhoff industrial motherboards for use in embedded computers are manufactured in-house. Note that these motherboards incorporate propriety BIOS and emerging technologies in the PC market.
The Beckhoff CX5120-0143 is an embedded PC with low power consumption and a fanless design. The computer uses a 32-bit Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB operating system and a TwinCAT 2 NC I runtime control software. The CX5120-0143 is part of the Beckhoff CX5120 family that is in the wider Beckhoff 5100 series of embedded computers. To help in processing function, the CX5120-0143 features a non-expandable 2 GB DDR3 RAM and provides a slot for CFast and microSD card for the flash memory.
For optimal performance, the CX5120-0143 is designed to be operated in an environment with a surrounding temperature of between a minimum of -25 degrees Celsius and a maximum of +60 degrees Celsius. To keep the PC’s components in good condition even when being stored, the storage environment should not exceed a temperature of +80 degrees Celsius and should not fall below -40 degrees Celsius. Note that whether being operated or stored, the CX5120-0143 should not be subjected to a condensing relative humidity. It’s non-condensing relative humidity is rated between 5 and 95 percent.
