The CX5120-0115 is an embedded PC system manufactured by Beckhoff. The system comes with a 24 volt DC power supply and uses a single-core Intel Atom® E3815, 1.46 GHz processor. The system comes with a fanless design and has a low power consumption. The heat dissipation of the system is very efficient and its maximum power consumption is only 11 W. With a UPS, the maximum power consumption is 18 W. For flash memory, CFast card and microSD card can be incorporated while  2 GB DDR3 RAM storage is built-in. The CX5120-0115  uses TwinCAT 3 runtime (XAR) control software and comes with  2 x RJ45 10/100/1000 Mbit/s, 1 x DVI-I and 4 x USB 2.0, 1 x optional interfaces. The CX5120-0115  has high-quality components and is based on open standards. This industrial PC can be DIN rail mounted and uses the Windows Embedded Standard 7 P operating system. The system automatically recognizes the I/O type that is plugged-in.

The CX5120-0115 uses EtherCAT due to which many extension options are available. Further master/slave Fieldbus connections (PROFIBUS, CANopen, DeviceNet, etc.) and communication interfaces (RS232, RS422/RS485) as well as all other signal types supported by EtherCAT can be directly connected as EtherCAT Terminals. As a whole, the CX5120-0115 is a very flexible platform for motion control applications. It comes with lost-lasting components at a very reasonable cost.
