Product Description
Embedded industrial computers work with an embedded operating system to work in an embedded set-up. Embedded computers employ a rugged motherboard to enable them maintain an optimal performance even in the harsh industrial environment. Beckhoff is a leading manufacturer of embedded PCs that handle a wide array of industrial applications. Some Beckhoff Embedded PCs are light-weight allowing them to be mounted on a DIN rail. For instance, Beckhoff embedded computers in the CX5000 series are DIN rail-mountable and employ a fanless design. Note that a fanless design allows the PCs to have a smaller size.
The Beckhoff CX5020-1111 is an embedded PC in the CX5000 series. Embedded computers in this series have a magnesium housing that offers better ESD protection, screening, and weigh less, allowing them to be mounted on a DIN rail. The CX5020-1111 features a TwinCAT 2 PLC runtime control software and supports the Windows Embedded CE 6 operating system. The embedded PC is designed to accommodate a wide range of industrial environments provided they have an ambient operating temperature of between a maximum of 60.0 degrees Celsius and a minimum of -25 degrees Celsius. When being stored, the computer accommodates a storage temperature of between 85 degrees Celsius and -40 degrees Celsius.
With an international protection rating of IP 20, the CX5020-1111 can be mounted and operated in environments with small solid objects but not prone to liquid spillage. The embedded PC has a factory-fitted option slot for expansion allowing the computer to have a Fieldbus or a serial port connection with slave or master functionalities. Note that the 128 MB compact flash card supplied with the computer can be used as an optional hard disk.
