Product Description
The CX9010-1001 is one of the highly rugged variants of the Embedded PC family from Beckhoff's CX Series for industrial automation. It is powered by an Intel IXP420 processor based on XScale technology, running at 533 MHz. The device is equipped with 32 MB of internal flash memory and 128 MB of RAM, both are non-expandable but are enough to manage an embedded control application that is stabilized and focused on reliability.
Connectivity is one of the highest points in the CX9010-1001, with 2 x RJ45 Ethernet ports having an internal switch facilitating transfer speeds of up to 10/100 Mbit/s. The diagnostic LEDs highlight whether the device has power, the LAN connection, K-bus condition, or flash access, all major factors in troubleshooting and monitoring the system.
This model is equipped with Microsoft Windows CE 5, a lightweight and flexible operating system designed for embedded systems. Additionally, it comes with TwinCAT 2 CE PLC runtime. It can serve an extensive compatibility of various types of modular I/O systems offered by Beckhoff through the K-bus (Bus Terminals) interface, making it very adaptable to any industrial environment. Power comes into the system through a contact socket set at 24 V DC which has -15%/+20% tolerance, thus able to be rugged enough to handle changing power conditions in industrial environments. The 128 kB NOVRAM is non-volatile memory for secure data retention in case of power loss. There is also an available current supply for the K-bus at 2 A for power.
The unit is energy efficient with a highest power loss of only 6.5 W. This makes it an eco-friendly device for long-term use. Its compact size is 59 mm x 100 mm x 91 mm, and it is light weighing around 250 g, thus easy to install in confined spaces.
