Product Description
The CX5020-0111 by Beckhoff is part of the line known as the CX Series, with robust embedded PCs. The unit employs the Intel Atom Z530 processor running at 1.6 GHz, and it is a compact unit with 1 core that can carry out tasks quite efficiently. It has 512 MB RAM which the unit can expand up to 1 GB in the factory. Storage capacity comes with a Compact Flash card slot, where 128 MB are available and can be expanded according to the demands of higher data requirements. A built-in 1-second UPS with 1 MB of storage on the Compact Flash card ensures that data is preserved in case of short periods of loss of power and thus renders mission-critical tasks better secure as well.
For connectivity, the CX5020-0111 has two RJ45 Ethernet ports at 10/100/1000 Mbit/s, one DVI-D for display, and four USB 2.0 for peripherals. The unit also has an optional interface for further flexibility. Being passively cooled, this embedded PC operates quietly and efficiently. The internal battery-backed clock keeps the time and date up even when the system is switched off. This hardware is compatible with Windows Embedded CE 6 and also with Windows Embedded Standard 2009, meaning it comes in handy for a broad range of industrial automation systems. Software options for control include: TwinCAT 2 runtime and TwinCAT 3 runtime (XAR).
The CX5020-0111 can be powered with 24 V DC power supply and comes up with a maximum current of 13 W, thus making it very energy-conscious. Equipped with E-bus or K-bus automatic recognition for I/O connection, the device is ready for reliable operation in various industrial environments and ensures dependent performance in automation tasks through its supportive 2 A current supply.
