The Beckhoff Embedded PC model CX2900-0033 is designed for use in the field of industrial automation. It is compatible with many operating systems like Windows Embedded Compact 7, Windows Embedded Standard 7, and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise (2016 and 2019 LTSC) and TwinCAT/BSD systems for the various application requirements.

The unit utilizes a 24 VDC power source with a power tolerance of -15% to +20%, to maintain stable functioning even with fluctuating power voltage. Notably, this model has a battery-backed up real-time clock for enhanced time and date keeping even in the event of system restarts common in many industrial applications. This model supports various Beckhoff CPU modules from the CX20x0 series and employs CFast cards for flash storage with the capacity of 40 GB to 320 GB to store the application data. Connectivity is another area where the CX2900-0033 shines; it has two I/O interfaces namely the E-bus and K-bus systems which are both recognized and configured automatically by the PC. It is designed to work at its best under the condition of up to 95% relative humidity without forming condensation and it operates under temperature conditions of -25°C to +60°C, which are suitable for industrial conditions. The PC complies with the IEC 60068-2-6 and IEC 60068-2-27 for shock and vibration and has IP20 protection going for it to protect the unit against water and dust ingress in areas that are not exposed to moisture and dust. This is also an energy-efficient device that consumes as low as 16W as base and 23W at the most when used with a UPS.

It is CE, UL, and DNV GL certified and is available in ATEX and IECEx certifications for hazardous areas with support to TwinCAT 2 and TwinCAT 3 boosting its application in automation and motion control systems. The device has a small footprint of about 142mm x 100mm x 92mm and a weight of approximately 1,095 grams and features enhanced compatibility with Beckhoff’s SATA HDDs and SSDs, with storage capacities ranging from 40GB to 1280GB, and provides reliable data storage solutions.
