The Beckhoff Embedded PC model CX1800-0202-0007 is the ideal solution for use in industrial automation because of its technical features outlined below. This model is built on the Windows CE.NET platform and has a real-time operating system.
The processor is built on a 32-bit architecture and is specifically designed for automation and PLC functions. It has a 128MB RAM to enable it to handle data processing within the various automated operations efficiently. For storage purposes, the PC uses Compact Flash (CF) which retains data in case of power failure and also allows the addition of more memory for larger or more complicated programs. The PC is delivered with TwinCAT software to make the device an all-in-one PLC and motion control system. The network connectivity is done through an RJ45 Ethernet port which is very important in industrial systems. It has an RS232 COM port which increases its compatibility with several serial devices. This model also supports both E-bus and K-bus terminals which are identified at the start-up and provide convenient and manageable I/O connections. The availability of DVI and USB interfaces helps to simplify the connection with displays and other peripherals and, thus, to improve the interaction with the user and the overall system control. The CX1800-0202-0007 model is designed to be mounted on a DIN rail. It has a 1-second UPS system which is very important in protecting the data during power failure.
