The Beckhoff CX1030-0012-1005 is considered as a very high – end Embedded PC within the CX series, specifically made for the installation in industrial environments and for control purposes. Internally, there is installed an Intel® Pentium® M processor, 1.8 GHz, to perform well in modern high-level processing. It is comparatively faster than its contemporaries because it has only single core and it tends to be used on applications that require steady automation.

This model has 256MB of DDR RAM but this capacity can be increased to 1GB, which will allow for higher capacity memory usage. For the shaking machine, it has a Compact Flash card with 128 Mb storage disk and a slot for expansion for the CX1030 – 0012 -1005 version. The CX1030-0012-1005 has two RJ45 ethernet ports 10/100 Mbit/s and an internal switch to enable reliable networking, provided within the system. Further, this module has a clock using a battery so that it remembers the current time and date while the computer is being powered which is crucial when one needs to do control which is time sensitive. Going by the specifications through Windows Embedded Ce 6 or Windows Embedded Standard 2009, the CX1030-0012-1005 has an ability to operate TwinCAT 2 PLC runtimes, NCP PTP boundaries, NC I runtime making it purposed for a range of application including automation and motion control.
