The Beckhoff CX1020-0112 is a low profile Embedded PC that expands on the existing CX Series of products and is targeted at industrial automation markets. This device is equipped with the Intel® Celeron® M ULV processor operating at a specific frequency of clock analytics of 1GHz specifically engineered for control and automation tasks. The single core processor is ideal for the real time operational tasks in the industrial automation sector.

The CX1020-0112 is also packaged with 256 MB DDR RAM with possibilities of upgrading it to 1 GB so that it can accommodate more strenuous applications. It also has a Compact Flash card internal slot which has 128MB of flash memory built in and is also interface with various cards making it more versatile in data storage. There are two RJ45 Ethernet interfaces on the module, each of 10/100 Mb with an internal rate switch. Data exchange between the networked devices occurred without problems. The passive cooling system ensures quiet activities. If there is a need for additional thermal performance, optional active cooling can be added.

The few active diagnostic LEDs on the module provide feedback on whether power is on, LAN link or activity, TwinCAT status, and flash access, and other relevant system phenomena to assist troubleshooting. The time and date functionalities are maintained by the internal battery backed clock when there is an electrical outage.
