The CX1010-N031 Interface Module engineered by Beckhoff Automation> is well-suited for industrial automation needs. It increases connectivity and control within the CX1010 embedded PC. It supports two RS422/RS485 ports for concentrated serial communication. It has an Intel IXP420 processor with XScale technology running at 533MHz. This module helps in network connectivity with two RJ45 ports supporting 10/100 Mbit/s provided by a built-in Ethernet switch.
The interesting features of the Beckhoff is the 32 MB flash memory, 128 Mb RAM, and a clock. The battery is also replaceable for timekeeping. Operating on Microsoft Windows CE 5, the CX1010-N031 is conformable with TwinCAT 2 CE PLC and TwinCAT 2 CE NC PTP control software.
