Product Description
The Beckhoff CX1010-0121 is a compact Embedded PC within the CX Series of the devices by this manufacturer, which is created for specific purposes in the area of industrial automation. It houses an operational Intel® Pentium® MMX compatible processor that operates under a clock speed of 500 MHz, which is appropriate for the performing of control functions efficiently. The type of architecture of the processors is single core which is very advantageous when applying it in real time and control systems.
The Memory capacity of the Central Process Unit also known as CPU in layman term known as CX1010-0121 is fixed and exactly 256MB DDR RAM while including further Compact Flash storage space of 128 MB within the module which has provisionally available comparatively large storage space as well. This type of configuration allows some level of programming and critical data for brick, metal or PLA organizational structure of machines and instruments in an industrial setting to be stored. To ensure data networks connections, the module provides one RJ45 Ethernet port for 10/100 Mbit/s which works quite well for factory networking. The device also comes with no active ventilation, which further contributes to the fact that it is a quiet, maintenance-free device even in challenging conditions. Diagnostic LEDs indicate power status and activity (present or absent), LAN speed, flash access activity, and TwinCAT status making it easy to keep track of the system’s functionality.
Measuring only 58 mm x 120 mm x 91 mm in dimension, the CX1010-0121 is highly compact which makes it preferable where available space is at a premium. The product runs on any of Windows Embedded CE 6 or Windows Embedded Standard 2009, and works with TwinCAT 2 PLC runtime or TwinCAT 2 NC PTP runtime allowing doing advanced control tasks such as motion control and real time automation.
