The Beckhoff CX1010-0030 is an industrial embedded PC in the CX Series. It uses a 500 MHz Intel Pentium and has one core, which is sufficient for numerous applications related to the industry. This PC does not include expandable DDR RAMs of 256 MB which are adequate for control operations. Moreover, it comes with a Compact Flash card slot along with 128 MB of memory; thus, it provides expandable storage to store program and system data.

The CX1010-0030 has a 10/100 Mbit/s RJ45 interface to ensure efficiency in Ethernet communications and integration into networked systems. To ensure the device is quiet in operation where this is necessary, it is equipped with a cooling system that makes no sound. It has diagnostic LEDs to make sure that the given LEDs is included such as power, LAN speed, LAN activity, TC status and flash access to enable monitoring of the status of the system plus making it easier for the diagnosis of the system. For additional functionality, the CX1010-0030 supports an expansion slot for a Compact Flash type II card that further provides options through storage or software applications. In addition, the internal battery-backed clock provides for accurate timekeeping to occur whether in situations of power failure, further providing a changeable battery for continuous long-term performance.

The system functions on Windows Embedded CE 6 or Windows Embedded Standard 2009 and supports the operating system fully with either of the run-times - TwinCAT 2 PLC runtime or TwinCAT 2 NC PTP runtime in order to make it highly adapted in industrial control environments. With a maximum consumption of power of 8 W, the CX1010-0030 possesses both ability and ease in the majority of applications as it delivers reliability along with performance.
