Product Description
The Beckhoff CX1010-0011 is one such Embedded PC that is rugged and compact with a high versatility and clearly intended for the industrial market. It's current operating power comes from the 500 MHz Intel® Pentium® MMX which can carry out control operations satisfactorily. The features a noiseless passive cooling system hence there is no need of other cooling components as it does not use forced air.
This configuration of the model is fitted with 256 MB non-expandable DDR RAM which is good enough for performing typical automation tasks. For onboard memory, the CX1010-0011 incorporates a 128 MB Compact Flash card which can be enhanced with the use of Compact Flash type II card in an effort to manage more data. The device interfaces with 1 x RJ45 ethernet which supports 10/100 Mbit/s ethernet for external network connections providing a means of data communication. There are diagnostic LEDs for power, LAN activity and speed, flash activity and system diagnostic information which aid in diagnostic measures of systems.
The operating systems on this hardware unit include Windows Embedded CE 6 and Windows Embedded Standard 2009 and connects to TwinCAT 2 PLC runtime or TwinCAT 2 NC PTP runtime, thereby supporting real-time control functions. It also accepts I/O modules through E-bus, K-bus, or IP-Link power supply modules of type CX1100 series. This model achieves a good trade-off between efficiency in power dissipation with 8 W maximum available power and performance with 16-bit ISA system bus PC/104. Furthermore, the CX1010-0011 is quite lightweight, typically around 1160 g, yet sturdy and small enough for numerous industrial control applications, even housing a battery-operated RTC for working in time-dependent operations.
