The Beckhoff CU1521-0010 is a significant plug-in module in the Beckhoff EtherCAT product line that enables direct media conversion from RJ45 copper physics to single-mode fiber optics and vice versa.

This EtherCAT media converter combines single-mode glass fiber (9/125µm SM) and a minimum Category 5 shielded Ethernet/EtherCAT cable to ensure stable and accurate data transport across industries. The unit features a dependable bus interface with one SC Duplex and one RJ45; the communication distance supported is up to 20,000 meters for 100BASE-FX and 100 meters for 100BASE-TX, which is critical for complex networking. This switch also makes it easy to switch between operational modes and supports Link Loss Forwarding for standard Ethernet operations to offer customized solutions in line with the needs of the network.
