The Beckhoff CU1521-0000 is one of the EtherCAT Series that provides highly advanced functionality in EtherCAT networks.
This module plays a critical function in transforming media from the traditional RJ45 copper physics to multi-mode fiber optic and back and thus increases the scalability and the versatility of the network connections. In terms of data transfer, it uses multi-mode glass fiber (50/125 µm MM) and shielded Ethernet/EtherCAT cables (minimum Category 5). The bus interface of this model has 1x SC Duplex and 1x RJ45 to enable the transfer of data over long distances. It supports a maximum of 2000 meters over 100BASE-FX and 100 meters over 100BASE-TX, thus allowing for deployment in various industrial applications without compromising on the signal reach. The module works with a data transfer rate of 100 Mbit/s and a minimal delay of about 1 µs, which provides fast and efficient data handling. This device is relatively simple in the power supply department and can be powered by 24 VDC with a range of 18 VDC to 30 VDC through a 3-pin connector. It has been designed for use in harsh industrial conditions with an operating range of -25 to +60°C and a storage temperature range of -40 to +85°C. This is further confirmed by its vibration and shock resistance which meets the EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27 standards respectively.
With regards to the CU1521-0000 electromagnetic compatibility the product complies with EN 61000-6-2 for immunity and EN 61000-6-4 for emission, thus, the product does not get affected by other electronic devices. The protection rating is IP20, and the installation position is variable, so it is possible to install the device in different ways. The device is equipped with CE and UL certificates, which confirm the conformity with the European and American standards respectively. A one-year warranty accompanies this product at Wake Industrial.
