Product Description
The BX5200 is a part of the BX Bus Terminal Controller Series by Beckhoff and is a versatile controller used to control numerous automation procedures in industrial automation systems. This unit has a native support of 64 bus terminals and can be expanded up to 255 terminals using a K-bus extension which makes this unit very ideal for use in large and complex systems.
The BX5200 deals with a good amount of data with a maximum fieldbus input and output of 512 bytes each. This one can also hold up to 2048 bytes of input and output in the process image, which gives enough room for effective control and supervision of the process. It has versatile signal compatibility and has 2,040 digital I/O and 512 Analog I/O to connect with a large number of sensors and actors. Data transfer is smooth with auto-detection up to 500 kbaud thus enabling fast and accurate communication. The bus interface provides an open-style 5-pin connector, while the serial interface has several connection possibilities, COM1 and COM2 ports are available, and both RS232 and RS485 are supported. The use of a CANopen-based Subsidiary Bus System (SSB) improves the integration of several network topologies. The power supply and K-bus activities are indicated by the use of LED to enhance diagnostic monitoring.
The unit has an FSTN display with 2 x 16 characters and is backlight enabling easy reading of information on the unit regardless of the surrounding light. Also, a joystick switch is added for parameter setting and quick troubleshooting. It consumes 24 V DC with a voltage range of -15% to +20% and has an input current of 140 mA plus one-quarter of the total K-bus current but not more than 500 mA. A battery-backed real-time clock is also included to provide system time and date for real-time control and to improve the controller’s performance in time-critical applications. Available at Wake Industrial with a one-year warranty.
