The Beckhoff BK9103-1006 is a versatile bus coupler from the BK EtherCAT Bus Coupler Series, designed to handle a wide range of automation tasks. It supports up to 64 bus terminals, with the possibility to extend this number to 255 terminals using a K-bus extension. This makes it scalable for larger systems that require more input/output options. The bus coupler allows for 512 digital peripheral signals for inputs and outputs, while also supporting up to 256 analog peripheral signals, providing flexibility for various control and monitoring needs.
The BK9103-1006 operates using the PROFINET RT (Class B) protocol, enabling real-time communication for automation processes. It supports data transfer rates of 10/100 Mbit/s, with automatic recognition of the transmission rate, ensuring efficient and reliable communication. The device uses two RJ45 bus interfaces with a 2-channel switch, supporting line or star topologies, allowing for flexible network setups.
