The Beckhoff BK1501 is a member of the EtherCAT Bus Coupler BK family which is particularly suitable for use in industrial automation systems. This bus coupler has the Fieldbus interface for PROFIBUS, which makes it easy to integrate into the existing PROFIBUS networks.

This coupling mechanism uses plug-type connectors thus making it easy and safe to connect and disconnect, something crucial in minimizing downtime in the course of assembly or servicing. This is intended to support the expansion of fieldbus stations in a modular approach which is suitable for systems whose size may grow in the future.
