Product Description

The AX5801-1 is a TwinSAFE option card meant for use in Beckhoff’s ax 5000 series servo drives which comes with rated current ranging from 1.5 A to 40 A. The current located safety module permits the driving up of safety relevant operating modes, such that safe stopping systems are conveniently built into the drive.

Some of the most essential safety functions incorporating a drive that are covered by the AX5801-1 include: Safe Torque Off STOT: This function acts to ensure the fastest possible stoppage of the drive, by disconnecting the power to the motor even as the onboard motor potentially stops remaining in place; Safe Stop 1 (SS1): The motor is brought to a controlled stop, torques are cut-off, and only then the power is cut off to regularize movement. The devices operated by the AX5801-1 option card under the MSSP standard with current ratings between 1.5 A and 40 A where 6 and 8 A were also worldwide sold including AX5x01-0000-0200, AX5x03-0000-0200 and AX5140-0000-0200.

The selection of this safety option card complies with the requirements of installations of EN ISO 13849-1: 2015 (Cat 4 PL e) and IEC 61508-2010 (SIL 3) in operation. Regarding safe integration of the Safe Torque Off (STO) function, lead or hardwired safe input is used that is embedded in the automation system and achieves effective desirable safety. The AX5801-1 can be used for equipment in environments where temperatures have a range between 0 degrees Celsius and +50 degrees Celsius and is certified with CE, cULus, and EAC certification making it suitable for use in global industrial application markets. This option card is well suited for any application where there is a need for safety critical stop functions to be embedded within the servo drive system.
